About YRE

Youth-led environmental journalism in 34 countries around the world.

Young Reporters, aged between 11 and 25, investigate environmental issues and problems and propose solutions through investigative reporting, photographic or video journalism.

Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) aims to empower young people to take a stand on environmental issues they feel strongly about and to give them a platform to articulate these issues through the media of writing, photography or video.

Testimony

YRE has been one of the most fantastic learning experiences for communicating science and even stories of science. The programme enables young people to look around them and hone their writing, photography and even editing skills. Stories and communication are one of the most effective ways to create awareness and bring about action, and YRE is one such incredible platform to upscale, learn and promote ideas and talents.
